There are many different types of heating, ventilating & cooling down equipment. The type of equipment found in any particular area needs to with their climate. The length & coldness of winter and the length & hotness of summer are the key factors in deciding what is needed. The moisture levels also play an important role on what equipment would be required.

HEATING SYSTEMS

Heating your home obviously is a process of adding warmth to the indoor environment therefore increasing the temperatures. Kitchens and restrooms have ventilation systems for removal of odors and moisture. If these are ducted through unconditioned areas (ex: attic, crawlspace), they should be insulated to avoid condensation from forming.

Clothing dryers are another form of ventilation where the moisture is vented to the outdoors. You can also installed a duct on your HVAC go back plenum straight from the outdoors so that any moment your home is under negative pressure, it takes in the air through this duct rather than through the cracks in your home.
